Paul Cerjan to Head L-3 Communications Government Services, Inc. within the L-3 Government Services Group

NEW YORK --(Business Wire)-- May 10, 2006 -- L-3 Communications (NYSE:LLL) announced today that Lieutenant General Paul Cerjan (Ret.) has been appointed president of its Government Services, Inc. (L-3 GSI) subsidiary. In his new position, General Cerjan will report to General Carl E. Vuono (Ret.), president and chief operating officer of L-3's Government Services Group. General Cerjan replaces Joseph Saponaro, who has left L-3 to pursue other activities.

Prior to joining L-3 GSI, General Cerjan worked from July 2004 until July 2005 as a Vice President and Program Manager for the Logistics Civil Augmentation Program III Middle East/Central Asia (LOGCAP III ME/CA). LOGCAP III ME/CA operates in eight countries with approximately 53,000 employees and subcontractors and an annual operating budget of approximately $10 billion.

General Cerjan was a U.S. Army soldier for 34 years, during which time he held a variety of command and staff positions, rising to the rank of Lieutenant General, and served in seven different divisions. Key military assignments included serving as the Deputy Commander in Chief, U.S. Army, Europe and Seventh Army; President of the National Defense University and Commandant of the Army War College. His active duty service also included two tours in Vietnam. Subsequent to retiring from the U.S. Army, General Cerjan's experiences included serving as President of Regent University and President/CEO of the National Defense University Foundation.

General Cerjan holds a Master of Science degree in Construction Management from Oklahoma State University and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the United States Military Academy, West Point.
