[May 05, 2010] Taqua Debuts 'IMS Core In A Rack' at RCA Convention and Expo May 05, 2010 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Taqua, a supplier of next-generation wireless and wireline switching systems and applications, at the Rural Cellular Association Convention and Expo in Las Vegas, showcased its "IMS Core In A Rack" to enable service providers to immediately deploy converged services, across wireless and wireline networks. The company said operators are seeking to cap and replace their legacy core networks to offer a common set of services that will support their fixed line, second generation (2G), third generation (3G) and fourth generation (4G) mobile subscribers. Taqua MobileWorks "IMS Core In A Rack" allows operators to deliver the industry's most enhanced set of voice, messaging and presence-based applications, based on a future proof IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) and Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) standards framework. The solution supports existing mobiles over new Femto, Pico and/or Macro Cells to leverage lower cost last mile broadband IP networks, and is compliant with the global Voice over LTE initiative to support service delivery over 4G devices. The same "IMS Core In A Rack" enables the operator to completely replace their wireline Class 4/5 network and deliver converged applications across legacy TDM and IP-based networks. Together, the systems enable rapid delivery of mobile VoIP, Converged IP Messaging (CPM) and presence enabled rich communications services. The solution utilizes critical network components including subscriber databases, such as the HLR, and IN services platform to provide service parity across service domains. The system seamlessly integrates with existing messaging core to cap legacy investments and help with the transition of SMS and MMS to IMS based networks. Combined with PDSN equipment, the Taqua MobileWorks 'IMS Core In A Rack' is a solution that can help with cost of entry and accelerate enhanced service deployment and provide a smooth transition to a single all-IP voice core for any mobile access including 2G, 3G, WiMAX and LTE.
